Research & Development

Bimed is a leading company in the field of cable glands, thanks to the expertise of its 25-member Research and Development team. The company has established a strong patent portfolio, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and technology. Bimed uses 3D prototype devices in rapid prototyping processes, which improves flexibility and speed during the design phases, and optimizes the product development process.

Integral to the design and engineering processes are advanced software tools, such as Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Product Life Management (PLM), and Project Management. These software applications strategically contribute to increased efficiency and improved quality throughout all stages of the process, starting from the initial product design phase.

Moreover, Bimed's accredited laboratory and state-of-the-art test measurement equipment facilitate continuous evaluation of the quality and suitability of its products. This capability empowers the company to consistently deliver products that are both reliable and certified to its discerning clientele.

In summary, Bimed distinguishes itself within the industry through its R&D capacity, extensive patent portfolio, rapid prototyping capabilities, robust software infrastructure, and accredited laboratory facilities.

The business processes encompass a comprehensive array of design and development stages, spanning from the initial concept to the final product.

Conceptual Design

During this phase, new product or project ideas are conceptualized based on industry benchmarks, technical requirements, and the imperative for adherence to standards and certification. Initial conceptual designs take shape as a result of this meticulous process.

Feasibility Analysis

Conducting patent and literature research, determining costs, and executing technical and financial feasibility analyses characterize this stage. A critical decision to proceed or not is made upon conclusion of this phase.

Product Design and Development

This stage involves the execution of product design, definition of laboratory test processes, and the conduct of engineering analyses. Prototypes for plastic and metal components, encompassing molds for plastic and gaskets, SLS/SLA samples, and CNC samples, are produced. The customer evaluation process, executed through the prototype/test/cost cycle, culminates in a decision to proceed or not.

Process Design and Development

In this stage, it is important to determine the production processes, clarify the supply processes and make decisions about assembly or automation. The key components include developing a quality plan, conducting pre-production testing and defining certification processes, packaging, storage, and shipment processes. Once all these aspects are taken care of, a final production decision is made and the product is ready to be introduced to the market.
